Holly van Geffen

Holly van Geffen was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at six weeks old. After reaching end-stage cystic fibrosis aged 20, she was assessed for a double-lung transplant and received her second chance at life in February 2015. She is a trained hairdresser working freelance and has her own design business from which she donates 25% of her profits to charity. Since her transplant she has discovered a passion for sport and for running in particular. She is competing in her second British Transplant Games this summer and is planning to do the Great North Run in September.

Always have hope

Holly van Geffen talks about how a can-do attitude motivated her to achieve her aspirations throughout her teenage years despite the challenges of a life-limiting genetic disorder.
