Libby Clegg, Paralympic, World, European and Commonwealth champion sprinter

Keynote dinner speech

Libby Clegg is one of Great Britain and Scotland’s most successful track and field athletes. With two Paralympic gold medal, two silvers, World, European and Commonwealth gold, the sprinter is a proven performer at elite level. Libby suffers from an inherited, deteriorating eye condition known as Stargardt’s macular dystrophy, which means she only has slight peripheral vision in her left eye and is registered as blind. Libby had a wonderful start to 2017, when she was recognised with an MBE in the 2017 New Year’s Honours list for services to athletics and charity.  She’s now training hard, firmly focused on the London World Para Athletics Championship in July.
